ChatGPT Business vs Claude, Set Up for You

ChatGPT Business is a good platform: shared projects, company knowledge from your apps, and tasks that run on a schedule or when a new email arrives. Like every AI platform now, it ships the parts. Someone still has to write down how your company works, build the jobs and get your team using them. I do that on Claude Team, in 14 days.

Where ChatGPT Business Wins

It's a good product, and for plenty of teams it's enough.

What it does better

  • The seats cost the same as Claude Team, and there's no $3,997 setup.
  • Most of your team already knows how to use it.
  • Tasks can start from a new Gmail or Slack message, not only on a schedule.
  • You can sign up this afternoon. My setup takes 14 days.

Where my setup falls short

  • It's Claude only. If your team won't give up ChatGPT or Copilot, you'd pay for both.
  • It moves with Anthropic. When they change a feature, the setup has to change with it: your team does that, or I do on Release care.
  • One person does it: me. You're betting on my calendar, which is why the guarantee comes with all your money back.
  • It's priced for one team of up to 20. A bigger company, on Claude Team or Enterprise, gets scoped on a call, and needs someone in IT who owns permissions.
  • It drafts and never sends. Someone still reads every proposal before it goes out.
  • If someone on your team already lives in Claude and has the hours, coaching for $1,997 gets you most of the way.

OpenAI retires custom GPTs on December 11, 2026. Their knowledge files move to the new plugins exactly as they were uploaded, so a GPT that was out of date stays out of date. What to move to instead.

Questions About ChatGPT

Help Topics

ChatGPT can do scheduled tasks now. Why pay for a setup?
The tasks are there. What they do depends on what they know: your prices, how you scope a proposal, which client is which, what never gets sent. Writing that down, building the jobs around it and getting ten people to use it is the work, on any platform. The four ways to give an AI your company's data, priced.
Why do you set up Claude and not ChatGPT?
Claude Team has what this needs on the seat: skills and plugins the whole team gets from one place, enterprise search, and scheduled tasks that run with your laptop closed. I run my own company on it, so I know where it breaks. If your team is set on ChatGPT, do the same setup work there. What that work is.
Can my team keep using ChatGPT?
Yes, though you'd pay for both. The two won't share memory, so pick one place for client knowledge.
We built a custom GPT. Can you move it?
Yes. Its instructions and files become the starting point for your company manual. Expect to rewrite some, because a GPT's files are a snapshot and your setup reads your tools as they change.
