Glean vs Claude, Set Up for You

Glean is enterprise search done well. It connects to your company's apps and answers from the documents each person can already open. It's built for companies with an IT team and doesn't publish prices. My setup is for teams of up to 20, with the price on the website.

Written by Gabe Pérez, who sets up Claude for small teams. Prices checked October 26, 2026.

Pick Glean if

  • You have hundreds of people and dozens of apps
  • You have IT staff to roll it out and a budget for an enterprise contract
  • Finding the right document is the main problem

Have me set up Claude if

  • You're a team of up to 20
  • Finding the document is only half of it, and you want the reply drafted too
  • You want to see a price before the first call

The $3,997 setup pays for itself once your team gets back 80 hours. That's one workday each for 10 people, if an hour of their time is worth $50.

Where Glean Wins

At the size it's built for, nothing on this list competes with it.

What it does better

  • Connectors for most of the apps a big company runs.
  • Answers that follow each app's own permissions, across thousands of people.
  • The security reviews and paperwork a large company's procurement asks for.

Where my setup falls short

  • It's Claude only. If your team won't give up ChatGPT or Copilot, you'd pay for both.
  • It moves with Anthropic. When they change a feature, the setup has to change with it: your team does that, or I do on Release care.
  • One person does it: me. You're betting on my calendar, which is why the guarantee comes with all your money back.
  • It's priced for one team of up to 20. A bigger company, on Claude Team or Enterprise, gets scoped on a call, and needs someone in IT who owns permissions.
  • It drafts and never sends. Someone still reads every proposal before it goes out.
  • If someone on your team already lives in Claude and has the hours, coaching for $1,997 gets you most of the way.

Search finds a wrong document faster than a person does. When I traced where my own company's answers lived, a finance doc said there were 73 vendor rules. The file had 151. Five places ours hid.

Why Me

Anyone can call themselves an AI expert now. I've put machine learning into production, published on it, and built the hard version of this by hand, on my own company.

Questions About Glean

Help Topics
_ □ ×
Is Glean a company brain?
It's the search part of one. A company brain also carries your rules and does the work: drafts the proposal, files the follow-up. What a company brain is.
What are the Glean alternatives for a small business?
Notion AI if your team lives in Notion, the search built into ChatGPT Business or Claude Team if you already pay for them, and Guru if you need verified answers for a support team. Or have standard Claude Team set up for you, which is what I do.
How much does Glean cost?
Glean doesn't publish prices, so you'd get a quote from its sales team. My setup is from $3,997 for a team of up to 20, plus your Claude seats.
