Notion AI vs Claude, Set Up for You
Notion's Business plan includes Notion AI, AI meeting notes and search across connected apps for $20 a member a month, and its Custom Agents run on schedules and triggers, paid in credits. If your company already writes everything down in Notion, that's hard to beat. I set up Claude Team for teams whose knowledge lives in email, calls and people's heads, and I write it down for you.

Pick Notion AI if
- Your team already keeps its docs, projects and notes in Notion
- Someone owns keeping those pages current, and will build the agents
- You want AI inside the workspace you already use
Have me set up Claude if
- What your company knows is in email threads and call transcripts, more than in a wiki
- Nobody has time to write it all down, so you want it done for you
- You want proposals drafted from your calls and your real prices
Side by Side
| Notion AI (Business plan) | Claude Team, set up by me | |
|---|---|---|
| The platform | ||
| Work on a schedule | Custom Agents on a schedule, on Notion changes or on Slack messages, paid in credits ($10 per 1,000 past the monthly allowance) | Scheduled tasks in Cowork, run in the cloud with your laptop closed |
| What it reads | Your Notion pages, plus search across Slack, Teams and GitHub | Your email, docs, calls and chat, through connectors. It can read your Notion too |
| Trains on your data | Not unless you opt in | No, by default |
| Seats | $20 a member a month (less billed yearly) | $20 a seat a month, billed yearly; $25 monthly |
| The setup | ||
| Who writes down how your company works | Whoever edits the pages | I do, from your calls, email and docs, and you approve it |
| Who builds the jobs and connects everyone | You | I do, with two recorded trainings |
| Running by day 14 | Whatever you've built by then | One job on your real work, guaranteed |
| Keeping up with new features | You track what Notion ships | Optional Release care: I track what Anthropic ships, $997 a month |
| 10 people | ||
| First year | $2,400, plus any agent credits | $2,400 of seats, plus $3,997 once |
| Three years | $7,200, plus any agent credits | $7,200 of seats, plus $3,997 once |
The $3,997 setup pays for itself once your team gets back 80 hours. That's one workday each for 10 people, if an hour of their time is worth $50.

Where Notion AI Wins
For a team that writes things down, it's the shortest path.
What it does better
- Your docs, projects and AI live in one tool with one bill.
- The seats cost about what Claude Team does, and there's no $3,997 setup.
- Agents can react the moment a page or a database changes.
- Meeting notes land right next to the project they're about.
Where my setup falls short
- It's Claude only. If your team won't give up ChatGPT or Copilot, you'd pay for both.
- It moves with Anthropic. When they change a feature, the setup has to change with it: your team does that, or I do on Release care.
- One person does it: me. You're betting on my calendar, which is why the guarantee comes with all your money back.
- It's priced for one team of up to 20. A bigger company, on Claude Team or Enterprise, gets scoped on a call, and needs someone in IT who owns permissions.
- It drafts and never sends. Someone still reads every proposal before it goes out.
- If someone on your team already lives in Claude and has the hours, coaching for $1,997 gets you most of the way.
While moving our Notion sync to a schedule, we found 19 of our 36 databases answering "not found" on every request. The integration had never been shared with them, and nothing had said so. Eight small ways our tools lied.
Why Me
Anyone can call themselves an AI expert now. I've put machine learning into production, published on it, and built the hard version of this by hand, on my own company.
What I've built and published
- Built Peer Feedback, an ML system that scored 323,000+ peer reviews for 11,000+ Georgia Tech students, then sold it
- Co-authored a 2024 IEEE paper on it with Dr. David Joyner
- Two IBM patents, on distributed computing with homomorphic encryption
- Master's in Computer Science from Georgia Tech
- Fractional CTO at CITYROW after its $12M Series A, through its acquisition by WaterRower
- 15+ years and 50+ production apps
What my own company runs on
- Nexrizen has run on Claude every working day since June 2026
- 3,474 commits on our own company brain, 86% of them co-written with Claude
- 1,295 emails and 727 call transcripts filed by client, and 626 owed replies caught
- 39 field notes on what worked and what broke, including eight times our tools lied
