A Second Brain vs Claude, Set Up for You
A second brain is one person's notes with an AI on top, in Obsidian, Notion, Tana or a course's template. It works well right up until a second person needs it. My setup is a company brain for the whole team, filled on a schedule, that stays when someone leaves.

Keep a second brain if
- You're the only one who needs it
- You enjoy curating your own notes
- Your work is ideas and research more than clients and deals
Have me set up Claude if
- More than one person needs the same answers
- Some people should see less than others
- What you know has to stay when someone leaves
Side by Side
| Second brain | Claude Team, set up by me | |
|---|---|---|
| Who uses it | You | Your whole team |
| Who fills it | You, by hand | Everyone, plus connectors that read your tools live |
| Where the rules live | Your head | One company manual on every seat |
| Who sees what | Everything you can see | Each person sees only their clients |
| When someone leaves | It leaves with them | It stays with the company |
The $3,997 setup pays for itself once your team gets back 80 hours. That's one workday each for 10 people, if an hour of their time is worth $50.
Where a Second Brain Wins
For one person, it's the right amount of tool.
What it does better
- It's yours alone, shaped exactly the way you think.
- It costs little or nothing.
- No access rules to manage, because there's one reader.
Where my setup falls short
- It's Claude only. If your team won't give up ChatGPT or Copilot, you'd pay for both.
- It moves with Anthropic. When they change a feature, the setup has to change with it: your team does that, or I do on Release care.
- One person does it: me. You're betting on my calendar, which is why the guarantee comes with all your money back.
- It's priced for one team of up to 20. A bigger company, on Claude Team or Enterprise, gets scoped on a call, and needs someone in IT who owns permissions.
- It drafts and never sends. Someone still reads every proposal before it goes out.
- If someone on your team already lives in Claude and has the hours, coaching for $1,997 gets you most of the way.
My co-founder and I get the same meeting invites and the same client threads. Without a shared table, both of our AIs filed everything twice. That's a problem a second brain never has, and every company brain does. Two founders, one brain.
Why Me
Anyone can call themselves an AI expert now. I've put machine learning into production, published on it, and built the hard version of this by hand, on my own company.
What I've built and published
- Built Peer Feedback, an ML system that scored 323,000+ peer reviews for 11,000+ Georgia Tech students, then sold it
- Co-authored a 2024 IEEE paper on it with Dr. David Joyner
- Two IBM patents, on distributed computing with homomorphic encryption
- Master's in Computer Science from Georgia Tech
- Fractional CTO at CITYROW after its $12M Series A, through its acquisition by WaterRower
- 15+ years and 50+ production apps
What my own company runs on
- Nexrizen has run on Claude every working day since June 2026
- 3,474 commits on our own company brain, 86% of them co-written with Claude
- 1,295 emails and 727 call transcripts filed by client, and 626 owed replies caught
- 39 field notes on what worked and what broke, including eight times our tools lied
